Raw Foods Diet Menu Examples

Starting a raw foods diet can sound daunting especially if you are currently eating a “typical” diet that does not focus on raw foods. To get started you will want to ease into the diet plan. To make a smooth transition you will want to start by first changing your breakfast, followed by your other meals and snacks. Let’s take a look at the types of foods you will be eating.

General Tips

1. On a raw foods diet, you will want to be eating a balance of the different types of foods allowed. You will want to make sure your daily intake includes carbs such as green leafy vegetables like lettuce, spinach, chard and kale. You will also want to make sure you are getting enough of the good fats everyday which will consist of your nuts, seeds, oils, olives and avocados.

2. You may want to indulge your sweet tooth by eating your sweeter vegetables and fruits. You can also add raw dairy products to your diet as well as soy milk to have enough of these comfort foods, especially in winter or cold climates.

3. You may find that it is not necessary to consume too much water while on a raw foods diet. You will be getting a decent amount of water from the foods you are now eating, so it will only be necessary to drink when you are thirsty. But better to keep hydrated that not, so just ensure you drink enough.

Breakfast

Planning meals, especially at first can be tricky if you are not used to the raw food diet plan. As already mentioned it is usually easiest to start with breakfast. There are plenty of options to choose from. For breakfast you can eat a large bowl of melon or fresh berries with some nuts. Other ideas include juicing your own fruits and vegetables to make a nutritional breakfast juice. Smoothies are also a popular choice on this diet. You can easily blend your favorite fruits with coconut juice or almond milk.

Lunch

When you are ready to add on lunch, again there is an endless variety of options to pick from. Big leafy salads with veggies and fresh made salad dressings are a popular choice. Salad dressings can easily be made by blending avocados with lemon or orange juices or by mixing cold pressed extra virgin olive oil with your favorite fruits.

Dinner

Some ideas for dinner include lettuce or cabbage wraps filled with raw hummus and vegetable or avocados and veggies. Vegetable salads made with cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini or whatever fresh veggies you have on hand are also great choices. Adding nuts or raw cheese to your salads and wraps can also add variety. Making a raw veggie soup or adding pesto to veggie dishes are other tasty options.

Snacks

Raw food diet snacks are also pretty easy to come by. Just eating some fresh fruit or a handful of raw nuts are great options. Dried fruits especially during the winter months are also a popular choice. Frozen fruit shakes on a warm day can be very refreshing.

As you can see transitioning to a raw food diet can really be quite simple. Start slowly adding one meal at a time. Before you know it you will be enjoying the diet and all the benefits that go along with it.

The Importance of Carbohydrates in Our Diet

The human body runs on sugar or glucose. This is our main form of energy. Our bodies turn the food we eat into glucose and carbohydrates are the best source. This is because they convert more easily than fat or protein. This means we have to eat carbohydrates just to function, let alone maintain good health.

Simple and Complex

There are two types of carbohydrates – simple and complex. They are called simple carbohydrates because they are made up of one sugar. Some of them we already know: sucrose, which is white sugar; glucose, which is corn sugar; fructose, which is fruit sugar; maltose, which is found in beer. Complex carbohydrates were given the name because they are made of more than one type of sugar. The key difference is the time the body takes to break them down. Simple carbohydrates break down quickly, while the complex take longer.

Both types are important to our bodies and should be included in our diet. There are times when we need to pick up quickly, say after strenuous exercise. That is when we feel the benefits of simple carbohydrates. We get a surge of energy from them to help us keep going by replacing the energy we have lost. On the other hand, the complex type will sustain us longer because they are being converted into energy over longer period of time. The body still breaks them down into glucose, but it takes longer to do it.

Sugars In The Body

Carbohydrates simply convert to sugar. The sugars in the body, called saccharides, keep the cells healthy by communicating with one another. In fact, that is their main function. They are actually in all living things, such as plants, and there are around 200 of them in the human body. Human breast milk has a number of natural sugars, which underlines their importance. We need monosaccharides, which are sugars, to metabolize our food. Which means, if we do not get enough, our food is not broken down properly to the life-giving components we need.

We cannot underestimate the importance of carbohydrates in our diet. That is why low carbohydrate diets can be dangerous and can lead to health problems. It is much better to have a diet that has a balance of protein and carbohydrates.

A Low Carb Foods List For A Low Carb Diet

This low carb foods list features natural, whole food choices and is good for anyone on a low carb diet. While experts recommend that a little over half of your daily diet should include carbohydrates, you want to avoid simple carbs from items like doughnuts, pizza, chips and crackers. Instead, it is wiser to get complex carbs from the all natural low carb foods list here.

1. Lettuce, spinach and other leafy greens offer excellent nutrition from naturally, low carb foods. A single serving (about 1 1/2 cups) includes only 3 grams of carbohydrates, and those are good, healthy, complex carbohydrates.

2. Tomatoes are surprisingly low in carbohydrates. For example, 1 medium size vine ripe tomato offers seven grams of carbs, but you rarely eat a whole tomato, so that number can be chopped in half.

3. Carrots provide so much nutrition in just a small number of calories that they must be a part of any low carb foods list. 1 medium, raw carrot about six to seven inches long yields eight grams of carbohydrates.

4. Broccoli is the most popular vegetable in our natural, low carb foods list. 1 whole medium stalk of broccoli contains only 8 grams of high quality complex carbohydrates from whole foods.

5. Green beans are the lean choice on any low carb foods list in the bean category. While black and red beans, baked beans, lima beans, kidney beans and pinto beans are loaded with almost 30 grams of carbohydrates in a serving, green beans weigh in at only 5 grams of carbs per 3/4 cup serving.

6. Snow peas, green peas, and sugar snap peas are low carb foods that are bursting with flavor. You can eat a half-cup of green peas, a full cup of snow peas, or a cup of steamed sugar snap peas and stay fit with only about 10 grams of carbohydrates per serving, plus healthy fiber, which is also crucial for a healthy, low carb diet.

7. Cucumbers are a natural choice for this natural low carb foods list because they are easy to clean, slice, and consume. A third of a medium size cucumber includes just over three grams of carbs. Use them on salads, and in sandwiches.

8. Bean Sprouts are perfect for salads, and in Chinese food. Even a low carb diet will allow you to eat a whole cup of bean sprouts for only 6 grams of carbs.

9. Celery is great for the fiber, the nutrients, and the benefit of cleansing bad breath. Celery is a must on our natural, low carb foods list at only 3 grams of carbs in 2 medium stalks.

10. Nutrient dense, concentrated whole food formulas offer superior nutrition with under ten grams of carbs. These advanced, concentrated low carb foods are not typically found in stores, but can be found on the Internet. This last pick may sound a bit off the beaten path for a natural low carb foods list, but if you change your mind about nutrition and the way you explore a low carb diet, then you will see that there is a better way.

Flatten Your Stomach in 30 Days – See Which Diet is the Most Effective to Lose Midsection Fat Fast!

Do you think it is possible to flatten your stomach in 30 days?
Well, take just a couple of minutes out of your day to read this article and see which diet works the most effective to lose midsection fat quickly, easily, and naturally.

You see, there are a couple of things that could cause one to NOTbe able to successfully lose stomach fat.

1. Fad diets (low carb, low fat, low calorie) – Fad diets are unnatural and will end up slowing your metabolism down…which leads to yo-yo weight loss and STORED body fat!
2. Strictly relying on abdominal exercises – Ab exercises ONLY tone muscles UNDER fat…they do not REMOVE the fat on top.

So, what are powerful methods that will work?

1. Get PROPER nutrition (protein, fiber, complex carbs, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals)
2. Boost your metabolism.

I’ve come across a diet plan after many years of researching that is based entirely around those 2 powerful methods above, and this diet is called the “calorie shifting diet”.

What makes this diet perfect for fat loss?

Firstly, the diet is based around eating to lose weight..not starving. They provide a diet generator program making it easy and convenient for you since it will create your daily menu plan for you. Secondly, this diet will SKYROCKET your metabolism to to the maximum peak. This is done firstly by the meals you’ll be consuming since they are designed to elevate your fat burning hormones, and secondly by you using the powerful diet technique taught by this program….the “shifting” technique.

My viewpoint on this diet is that it is very effective for getting quick fat loss since it is based entirely around proper nutrition and boosting your metabolism. The one thing I would like to point out though is to make sure if you do this diet…STAY 100% consistent if you want to see and feel results.

So, if you would like to flatten your stomach in 30 days…consistently and permanently, then I recommend for you to look into and tryout the calorie shifting diet program….

Get A Flat Tummy – Flat Tummy Diet Tips

Dieting for a flat tummy can be a cumbersome and boring process. The constant dealing with hunger pains, cravings, and pressure from the outside world can make someone fall off of their path to weight loss in an instant, sometimes never to get back up again. Other times, the person just does not have a set of guidelines that they can follow. So what I am going to do is give you a quick set of dieting guidelines for free that you can use and follow to get that flat tummy.

Guideline 1: No carbs after 5 pm. As the day goes on, the body becomes less able at handling carbohydrates, unless you workout during this time. If not, then the chances of those consumed carbs being converted to fat increase. As a rule of thumb with dinner, do not consume any excess carbohydrates such as pasta, rice or potatoes. Instead, load up on greens or any type of vegetables.

Guideline 2: Eat more protein. Protein has been found to keep you feeling full for a longer period of time as compared to carbs or fats. Also, protein is 30% more thermogenic than carbs or fats. What this means is that when you eat protein, the body has a harder time breaking it down. It has to use energy to do this in the form of calories.

Guideline 3: Eat small meals throughout the day. A good rule of thumb is breakfast, lunch, dinner, then 2 snacks. Your first snack with be between breakfast and lunch and your second snack between lunch and dinner. This will prevent you from binging; it will prevent the cravings, and also keep your metabolism revved up throughout the day.

There you have it, 4 dieting guideline tips for a flatter tummy. Follow these rules and you will get to where you want to be in no time.
